There were bookshelves along one wall with a wide variety of reading materials......even Reader's Digest Condensed versions.....an immediate eye-catcher for Cindy, who loves to read, but seldom has time for an entire book! And she found one that she was able to finish during our short stay. This was definitely the largest room we have had on this tour and one of the most comfortable and inviting. Cindy decided she could stay for a month!

After getting Lexxus settled into her air conditioned kennel, we spent some time strolling through the village, taking time to photograph the town and the folks of Falmouth, both natives and visitors. We had lunch at a tiny little place on Main Street called Cape Cod Chicken, where we found the best chicken salad we have ever had! The streets are chock full of neat little shops. There are benches along the way and a great little park in addition to the Village Green itself.
Our photo taking done and the heat really setting in, we returned to the Inn. After showering for dinner, Cindy took a book out on the porch and I went onto the Village Green and showed the kids how the digital camera worked. They loved it and it was an hour before I finally got back to Cindy, who was peacefully absorbed in her book. She had a diet Pepsi, a book and a breeze coming into the shaded front porch, so she was happy!
Breakfast was fun! Don introduced everyone as they arrived to the table. He explained that the day before they had served a Southwestern breakfast and this morning we would be having Cape Cod bananas, grown locally (hmmm....not too sure about that now!). The Cape Cod bananas were served with granola, cranberries and yogurt. There was also tea, coffee, cranberry and orange juice. A luscious lemon yogurt blueberry cake awaited us on the table. After the fruit starter, Don served us New England Apple Cheddar Quiche and sausage links. There were 10 of us at the table and we talked about the local "Rotary" situations, biking and traveling. It was a wonderful end to our mid-summer tour.
All too soon it was over and we headed out for a day that would change our direction, as we turned back toward the west to get some work done!
