Twelfth Night Inn
Staunton, Virginia

This Inn is the fourth owned by Juliette & John Swenson. They made one in Camden, SC (about 20 miles from my home in Stateburg, SC), one in Washington State,
and Walker House B&B in Petersburg, VA, where we were last week.
This time, John says, "We got it right. Location, home and surroundings."

Surroundings meant gardens, and they were beautiful. The flowers were just beginning to bud nicely, but some had popped a little to welcome me. I spent a lot of time taking pictures, but there was such a detailed garden to photograph. The pond, the walkways, arches and open spaces as well as a waterfall and hedged sitting areas welcomed me.

Juliette showed me to "Act Two" (Room 2) Illyrian Sea Coast. The room was named after William Shakespere's, 12th Night Inn and stayed with this theme. Upon entering you are greeted with a sitting area with 2 large wicker chairs, small coffee table, loveseat, large area rug, books, TV with remote and plants. There was a closet with robes and extra blankets.

Exiting this room to the left was the bedroom. It boasted a queen bed, large rug, 2 chairs, a desk and chair, phone, writing materials, alarm clock, books, a 5-drawer dresser and an ice bucket with glasses and candles.

The private bath had a dressing area and a wall sink with small rug, clawfoot tub with shower and an unusual enclosed radiator for heat.

Juliette had flower arrangements all around the home. That evening for dinner, I returned to Walnut Hills Campground in Staunton, where Cindy, Lexxus and The Eagle were spending the night. After dinner, I returned to the Inn, downloaded the photos to disk for Juliette and then drifted off for a great night's sleep.

Upon entering the breakfast area the next morning, a newspaper was placed at my table setting. Juliette serves a lighter breakfast through the week and full course breakfasts on the weekends. Juliette and John joined me for orange juice and cantaloupe, grapes & plums in an apricot puree sauce. There were muffins and homemade whole wheat bread and strawberry marmalade. Also available were cereals of multi-grain, Cheerios or Juliette's own granola mix.

After an enjoyable start to the day, visiting with my innkeepers, I packed up and headed back to join Cindy at the campground. Be sure to visit their Website, make your reservations and enjoy this bed & breakfast....in the spirit of Shakespeare.
