Tall Cedars Bed & Breakfast
Vancouver (Coquitlam), British Columbia

The sign that greeted us as we started to ring the bell, at the front door, said it all. We were home for the evening and Mom was going to make life better.

Dwyla met us at the door and took us to the covered back porch where she brought lemon squares for a snack. Ed joined us and we talked about our travels and heard about some of their guests from far away places. She has been in the business long enough to just pick one customer a year and she would have a great book. I mentioned her writing one and she laughed.

Tall Cedars represents a comeback for Dwyla & Ed Beglaw. They had built a successful B&B with The Rose Garden but after selling, Dwyla admitted missing it. So now they are at it again. We felt like we were visiting inlaws as we were treated like family. Dwyla was a constant worker. I even caught her planting more flowers as the sun was setting. She didn't stop going.

We decided to go with them to Como Lake just a few streets away from the house. But when they suggested a hike around the 3 plus mile lake, we balked. They certainly were more enthusiastic than we are. They were like energizer bunnies. We returned home for the evening and Cindy made pizzas in the motorhome while I downloaded all the pictures.

As I went out to let Lexxus out one last time, there was Ed in the kitchen, prepping for breakfast. Dwyla was out cleaning up after her gardening. Still going... I headed back in for a great night's sleep in our room that had a queen size bed, side chair and private en-suite half bath. The shared full bath was just down the hall.

We awoke to smells that reminded you of home and we drifted to the morning table. We had a lot of choices! Starting with coffee, tea and orange juice, then a fruit dish of strawberries, pineapple, bananas, honeydew melon, grapes and cantaloupe with yogurt, cold cereals, hot croissants with butter, jams and cream cheese. Next came rhubarb rolls and French toast stuffed with cream cheese and apricots. What a way to start the day!

Ed took off for work while we visited with Dwyla. She is starting her own Domain soon so keep watching for this new net venture. Contact her at her current Website until then. Book your reservation and tell her Cruising America sent you her way!
