Shinnston, West Virginia

The seven-mile drive in from Interstate 79 was "vintage West Virginia". The winding road kept me alert and made me anxious to finally get to Shinnston. The "Welcome" sign was a great touch. We go to so many cities that don't say anything.
The new Veteran's Memorial shows that Shinnston can band together and succeed when the goals were worth the pursuit.
It was neat to see a town that still has a corner Ice Cream Store. Shinnston made it feel like home again.

Shinnston is a wonderfully clean and well-kept town. It was obvious to us from our drives around town that the residents take pride in their homes and businesses. For a small town, it had an unusually vibrant downtown business area. The folks were all very friendly --- especially the local policeman who had to save Cindy when she locked both sets of keys in the motorhome!

In our opinion, Shinnston is the perfect place to live and raise a family!
