Parson's Pillow Bed & Breakfast
Cody, Wyoming
(Note: Since Mike was still busy at his "day job" and time was running short before our East Coast tour, I did this one myself - Cindy)

"It's OK to sleep in our church!" is what Lee & Elly Larabee will tell you. And, it's a wonderfully restored B&B. This was my second visit to Parson's Pillow, but the first time I had a chance to spend the night. There are 4 beautifully decorated guestrooms, each with its own theme. In all the rooms, great attention has been paid to the details - all designed to set a mood and promise a pleasant stay.

I arrived mid-day after a driving through a nasty thunderstorm that had knocked out the power to parts of Cody. Nevertheless, I was greeted by Elly and a hot cup of coffee! After chatting a while, she showed me the changes being made to the Garden Room. A new wall has been installed and features a great mural!

Lee was working and would not arrive home until later that evening, so Elly treated me to a scrumptious Italian dinner at Maxwell's in Cody. We then returned to the B&B so I could catch up on some work. Parson's Pillow is a modem-friendly B&B for all you business travelers out there!

After visiting a while with Lee & Elly on their front porch, I retired to the Rose Room! This room is named after Elly's mother and contains many of her mementos, including her journal. Done in shades from light pink to dark rose, the room is very soothing. The private, full bath features an antique wash stand (updated for convenience), tub and shower, bubble bath and lots of thick towels. By the time I retired, the lamps were on, the bed turned down and a chocolate waited on the pillow. After a hot bubble bath, I crawled into bed and slept like a baby!

Breakfast the next morning was another treat. Hot grapefruit, juice, coffee, pumpkin pancakes, mini blueberry muffins and barbed wire bacon. A person could get very used to this! As a parting gift, Lee & Elly gave me 2 Parson's Pillow B&B coffee mugs for the motorhome!

Unfortunately, soon after, duty called and it was time for me to return to Casper. With all the many local activities in Cody, be sure to stop by their Website when planning your next vacation to Yellowstone Country!
