The indirect lighting gives a tempering orange hue that sets a comfortable mood with the huge carpeted rooms that quieted table chatter and eliminated all noise from the kitchen.
I was greeted by David and seated by my waitress, Melissa, a delightful native of Pensacola. The menu was a treat in itself & who else claims to have the biggest, sexiest burgers in town?
My sweet iced tea was before me in moments and I started with a shrimp cocktail appetizer (10 shrimp, no less!). It was a great beginning.

Next, Dave wanted me to sample a staple for the restaurant that has been in business for 40 years...the Oysters Rockefeller. With melted butter, it was a meal in itself. The spices accented the dish to perfection.
Melissa returned with the two main dishes. First, the Broiled Combo: grouper, scallops, shrimp and stuffed shrimp. Second was the Sea Platter: crab cakes, oysters, mullet and the biggest, most delicious butterfly shrimp.

Nostalgic aquariums, filled with fish and an albino bull frog named Alfred, T-shirt sales, huge dining areas, cozy comfortable wrap-around bars with TVs to keep up with sports and the weather & everything is here for a business, social or any gathering.
As always, there was way too much to eat and I left with a well satisfied appetite and a doggy bag. So folks, for a really great seafood meal in Pensacola, which is famous for its seafood, think of the Oyster Bar. Gordon Linkerroker got it right a long time ago and it.s ALL here at the Oyster Bar in Pensacola!
