The Muses Bed & Breakfast
New Orleans, Louisiana

We arrived early in New Orleans and decided to stop by The Muses and let Georgia know that we were leaving the Eagle there and would take the trolley car into the French Quarter. The trolley stop was only 3 blocks away. Despot was the first to greet us and give us approval.

As we got onto the trolley, we realized our conductor was a show by himself, as he hustled the people onto and off the trolley.

Mike took loads of pictures and I got to go "SHOPPING!" This was my first time to the French Quarter and I was amazed how much it looked just like in the movies. There was something going on everywhere (as you can see at Our Landings for the day! ).

Afterwards, we returned to the Inn by trolley. The Muses Bed & Breakfast is just at the end of the streets named after the Muses, on Magazine St. We were greeted by Georgia Ross. Georgia is a very talented woman. Now in her 10th year, every effort and angle of the Inn shows her dedication to keeping it as authentic as possible.

Our room was complete with TV, telephone, queen bed and private bath with clawfoot bathtub. Wonderful antiques filled the Inn and the windows in the 15' high rooms were amazing! The hardwood floors were gleaming as Georgia took us on a tour of her rooms. Paintings of Muses adorn the walls. Many were done by Georgia, herself. The lush vegetation makes the Inn look fresh and alive. The Inn itself looks like a painting.

The next morning Mike woke early (highly unusual) and took more photos for Georgia. The bed was so comfortable that I was amazed to see him up so early!

For breakfast, Georgia served us real Cajun green onion sausage. She had made a special trip to a favorite store of hers, Menard's Slaughter House in Lafayette, LA! The sausage was accompanied by "from scratch" buckwheat waffles, with several kinds of homemade syrups, orange juice, tea and chocolate-raspberry coffee. What a start to our second day in New Orleans!

With the help of her son, Eric, Georgia has created the perfect place to stay in New Orleans. Please contact Georgia for more info and when you make your reservations, let her know Cruising America says "Hi!"
