1900 Inn On Montford
Asheville, North Carolina

People told me March was too early to come to Asheville. Boy, have they been wrong! Today I'm at another great inn located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. After the tour, I hurried outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. I was torn between the grounds and the inside as where to take pictures first.

Lynn and Ron welcomed and took us on a tour of most of the home. The fireplace that greeted us in the entryway was gorgeous. In front of it was a large orange and white cat, appropriately named Morris. He loved to be close to the fire, Lynn explained.

She led us through the common area and into the library where Louise spied another copy of "Bubbles", a picture she has been looking for. Upstairs in my bathroom was a smaller version of the print, too.

The home is beautiful and has had many renovations recently. After choosing rooms and bringing in our luggage, I hurried to get pictures of the outside. There was a patio area surrounded on 3 sides with shrubbery and flowers everywhere that begged to be photographed.

I went to my room to download the day's photos and relax. My room was the huge Thomas Wolfe Room. It has a queen size bed with a half canopy. There is a dressing table with a chair and mirror. Also, there is a 5-drawer dresser next to the fireplace, on top of which was an antique mantle clock and fresh flowers. Books and area information were plentiful. There is a decorative radiator, huge closet with a small refrigerator in it and two overstuffed chairs with tables and lamsps. A wall cabinet had more books in it than Cindy could read in a month!

The bathroom was a vacation in itself! The contrast of going from shiny hardwood flooring to regal maroon tile awoke your senses as did the fresh flowers in the bathtub enclosure, another first. There was a towel warmer and the bath itself was a shower/whirlpool tub.

Social hour came quickly. I joined Mom, Louise, Lynn and Ron for a glass of Biltmore Wine. They then took us to the third floor and a suite they are about to let the world enjoy. It will have many treasures not available to the area so far. You'll have to contact them to get all the details!

We decided to eat at a small Greek restaurant down the road and then return for the evening for a great night's sleep. I downloaded the pictures to get them ready for the next day and worked on some of the reviews.

I overslept, I was sleeping so good! But Mom woke me and we went to breakfast. Ron prepared tea and coffee for us in the common area and Lynn talked with us between preparing the different courses of the meal. We started with orange juice, tea and a parfait of granola, yogurt, raspberries, raisins and bananas. The entree was 1900 Montford Inn Eggs Benedict and for "dessert" we had Lynn's Bear Claws.
