Maplewood Inn
Maplewood, Vermont

Maplewood is a Greek Revival style home. The home was warm and enticed you to spend your time inside, instead of going out.

Doug & Cindy Baird have created the perfect romantic getaway or for a family reunion. It is 4/10 of a mile from the New York/Vermont state line on Route 22A.

Their motto is "Where great expectations are surpassed." The staff greeted us and we did "the tour". Every B&B is different. This one was a dairy farm for decades before becoming The Maplewood Inn. Rich in history and boasting great location to New York City and Boston, the home abounds in memorabilia of the dairy farm era.

Our room had a private bath, color/Cable TV, air conditioning, private entrance and a phone line. After checking in, we found a great place just inside New York called Sam's Big Dog Haus, and had the biggest "small" ice cream cone in the world -- what a treat! (Tip: Go there!)

After a restful night, breakfast was a bountiful buffet with hot beverage bar, breads, cereals, yogurt, orange juice and fruits. Too soon, it was time for us to move on. But, be sure to stop by their Website when planning your getaway from the hectic pace!
