Jellystone Park
Robert, Lousiana

These parks are geared more towards the younger camper. But we know there's a younger camper somewhere in all of us. This park was huge and the majority of its' size and efforts were for fun. Everywhere you looked was a Yogi or Boo-Boo.

There was a large lake that was central to the park. There were golf carts available for use, but I walked the park and took my time enjoying the ducks and a large fountain spout in the middle. The ducks followed me and supervised.

The pond actually separates the permanent residents from those that only stay for a short while. The new born ducks were a delight to the kids. I got a lot of pictures with them laughing and trying to pet them. Canoes and paddle boats sat at the ready if you wanted to enjoy them.

The playground areas had kids climbing, jumping and sliding. Everywhere someone was enjoying the park. Three pool areas, miniature golf, game rooms and a huge general store had something for them all. And speaking of pools, these were some of the largest we have seen in our travels so far.

I talked with a young couple that were taking their vacation late so they could enjoy it with their kids. It was their first experience with a Jellystone Park. They couldn't say enough about how pleased they were that someone in the industry had taken the time to cater to kids instead of motorhomes (actually they do both and ...it works).

There was a small restaurant that wasn't open yet, as we had arrived very early and a membership office that could sign us up to enjoy this park and Coast to Coast Parks around the country.

The sites were level and many had trees on them. Most sites were paved, with concrete patios. The restrooms and laundry rooms were centrally located for easy access by all campers. The large rec room included an outdoor fenced in, roofed area with picnic tables and lot of spaces for dances and fun!

This park was professionally maintained, operated and cared for. They are staffed and your every wish recieved quick attention. We recommmend this park and hope you'll tell them Cruising America says "hi!" when you book your next stay.
