Badminton, horseshoes, free firewood, sing alongs and someone to greet you as you enter the property. How many campgrounds do you know that tell you to pick a spot and look around before coming in to fill out the paperwork? These folks know how to make you feel at home.
We met Gracie who makes pies, breads and other baked goods for the park. She walked in carrying a lemon meringue pie. Cindy had found a friend. They talked at the table in the office as I went around the park taking pictures. A large family from Germany was staying and I noticed how the owners had taken the time to greet them not only as they entered the property but also on the chalkboard and in their language. Now that's taking care of your customers!
There are tent areas with water at the sites too. All the services were available except an on-site phone. There is a pay phone with a dataport but lightning had knocked it out. So we hooked up to the office line and got our email for the first time in three days. There were nice new showers and a laundry room with a bulletin board. There was a gift shop with gifts in it instead of just survival equipment. And the owners should get a check from the local community. They sold us on the entire area. Unlike many parks that try to corral you into not leaving the park, they informed us about all that was available in the area.
| This park has plans for growth and they have organized a lot of plans for group arrivals. Fishing charters and even a Caravan Rendezvous & Stopover. Ask about all these and more that they have waiting for you.
There was a lot bigger sites here than we have seen in a long time. They were level and had nice grass areas and new trees had been set at the beginning of the summer. |  |
