Dave Kline greeted us as we arrived at the resort and showed us to (Lucky) #7. The room was bigger than many suites we've stayed in. It had a private balcony overlooking the pool, two person Jacuzzi, refrigerator, microwave, 27 inch TV, private bath, working desk with phone, couch, coffee table for Mike to download his pictures, large shower in bathroom, gas fireplace, air conditioner and a King size bed that was wonderful!

Mike hurried bringing everything in from the camper so that he could get down to the deer ranch and see the deer. Dave explained how he had come to house and acquire the deer who treated Dave like a friend. He let local children bottle feed the baby deer and hand feed the adult deer. Afterwards he spent quite awhile with the albino baby and mother.
It was a very hot day and I stayed in the cool and caught up on some needed paperwork and sent files up to the Internet from our previous reviews. Dinner was perfect. We chose a table that overlooked the pool and valley, and were told this would be our breakfast table as well. Afterwards, Mike returned to the room to retrieve another battery for the Mavica, to take pictures of the bingo that was planned for the evening's entertainment. When Mike arrived at the bingo location, he met Dave's wife Sandy, who was watering the lovely plants just outside on the balcony.
The Lodge had several families staying and it seemed the perfect place for a family vacation. With the pool just outside and a great looking playground for the younger children just above the main lodge -- not to mention the attraction of the deer ranch! -- it is a great vacation spot! In addition, the lodge would also be an ideal stopover for the traveling business person. Our room was definitely business friendly!
After dinner, we concentrated on getting some more work done and enjoying the amenities of our room, including a chance to catch the news and some of the basketball game!
Breakfast time arrived so soon and it was hard to pull ourselves from such a comfortable bed. One of our fellow guests commented that they were changing their vacation plans and would just stay at the resort as long as they could. We thought this alone was one of the highest endorsements possible. It is quite a destination spot. The staff of the resort and restaurant were friendly and professional. Our waiter for both meals was Joe and he was a delightful change for our stay.
We had coffee, hot tea, orange juice and apple juice. Mike chose the French toast and bacon and commented that is tasted like "real" French toast rather than just tasting the egg. I chose the cheese omelet with hashbrowns & sausage. A thoroughly enjoyable way to start our day!
