High Ridge Bed & Breakfast
Kamloops, British Columbia

We arrived at the B&B to find a home perched on the hillside overlooking the valley. Guido Ponne greeted us the door and after helping us with parking the motorhome (which proved a bit of a challenge as the drive was too steep for us to navigate), took us on a tour of the High Ridge.

While Cindy settled in and got her email, I took pictures outside and ran into Marjorie, who had just returned from a business meeting in town. I took her down to meet Cindy. We visited a while and Marilyn explained that they were now in their second year as innkeepers. We ate dinner in the motorhome and then retired to our room to work.

There was a large common area downstairs complete with TV/VCR, books, sofa and chairs, coffee table, fireplace, private entrance and porch with a bench and a great view of the valley below. Marjorie said that this view was the main reason they had purchased the home in Kamloops. There was a refrigerator that we could use and an additional guest room with a single bed. The large bath had a shower and lots of towels. Our room had a queen size bed, alarm clock, lamps and coffee pot, tea, coffee and all the fixings. Upstairs was another guest room with a double bed.

The next morning, our hosts prepared breakfast and since there were only two of us, we ate at the table in the kitchen and talked about our life on the road. Our breakfast started with cantaloupe, grapes and tangerine slices along with coffee and tea. The main course was prepared by Guido and it was light and fluffy pancakes with syrup. With a good start to the day, we headed off on our further exploration of British Columbia.

When traveling to this beautiful area, which reminded us a lot of Wyoming and Montana, be sure to visit the High Ridge Bed & Breakfast.....and tell them we said HI!
