 | Ross greeted us as we walked up the stairway to the inn and asked if we needed help with our suitcase. I declined but it was a really nice start to a great nights' stay. He ushered us in and we took a tour. He showed us to our room, which boasted a queen bed, TV/VCR, telephone, new air conditioner, private bath with shower, butler basket and lots of towels!
Mike took pictures as we went along. Then we joined Anne on the back patio deck for ice tea and cookies. The backyard flowers were spectacular. There were birds singing and soft music was playing in the background. We visited for a while and they told us about the rain they had the week before. I said that I wished we could find a place to retire that had weather, exactly like it is right now, year round. Ross was quick. "You're HERE!" We all laughed. The hot tub was prepared and we thought about it, yet we were getting farther behind on the reviews. (You know how Mike loves to procrastinate!) |
Just then, Anne saved him by saying they had coupons for The Keg Steakhouse on the bay and would like for us to be their guests. Ross said he would be happy to take us to the restaurant. After showering, he picked us up out front and took us on a whirlwind tour of the bay. I spied a casino and suggested that I might take a detour after dinner, but chose "not" after all. Ross dropped us off right in front of The Keg.

"We'll pick you up right here, when you're ready. Just give us a call," he said as he headed back to the inn. Boy, talk about taking care of your customers! The next morning, we found out that this was not uncommon. They have helped a lot of guests like the ones coming in from downtown Vancouver, ones that visit the local eye clinics and young guests that attend the local universities.
 | Two young hostesses greeted us as we entered the steakhouse. They were so cute. We were taken to a patio table. Our waitress suggested, STEAKS, of course and soon delivered them to our table. With it we had fresh hot sourdough bread and baked potatoes with 3-cheese butter. It was a fine meal. The general manager, Len Antonation, checked with us and received accolades for the food, service and location. We sat and watched the sky train come and go for awhile. Then, we called Ross and two minutes later, there was his smile. | |
The next morning, Ross joined us with his coffee. Our breakfast started with peaches, kiwi, black cherries, and cantaloupe with mock Devonshire cream and banana nut muffins. For the muffins we had a choice of orange apricot butter or homemade blackberry and apricot jams. Next came a California croissant. It was light and fluffy and topped with bacon, avocado, tomato, poached egg and mornay sauce. What a great treat! As we talked, Anne joined us and we all proceeded with the review of Hazelnut UnBRITTLE Soft Krunch, sent to us from Oregon.

These folks again brought home just how friendly the people of Canada are. Folks this is another one you can't go wrong with. Convenience to downtown, by bus or sky train, is just one of the great things, but the best part are the innkeepers! Ross and Anne are truly a delightful couple and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check out their Website, set your reservations and tell them we said "Hi!"
