We had heard a lot of good things about Dave. He is among other things, an accomplished pianist and conducts murder mysteries aboard the Pacific Starlight Dinner Train. He met us in the driveway of his 3-room inn, with a smile and a firm hand shake then took us on a tour of his home.
| He showed us our room, which had a queen and twin bed, phone, TV/VCR, wicker chair and small table, our private bath included a double headed shower for two. Cindy thought this was a neat touch....one she wants to incorporate into our retirement home! It was a little warm on the second floor, so he quickly brought us a fan as well. |  |
Dave let me drive his new van and take everybody to Queen Elizabeth Park. As we walked through the park, he was quick to point out the various parts of Vancouver that are visible from all sides as well as providing a brief history of the area. It was a very enjoyable walk through the gardens.
We went to a nearby restaurant, Minerva's, for dinner and then took Lexxus for a short walk before retiring for the night.
The next morning, we met the other guests of the inn. On holiday from Australia, we enjoyed visiting with them as we ate a wonderful breakfast. We started with orange juice, coffee, tea and, of course, real English tea, along with strawberries, bananas, grapes, cantaloupe, date & pecan muffins. This was followed by fluffy apple pancakes, baked and served in clay pots. They not only were great tasting, but added an unusual and decorative touch to the table!
He followed us out to where he had met us, in the driveway. He wished us safe travels to Alaska and waved as we went out of sight.
