We decided to dine early to allow us to be at the White House for the fireworks that evening. Our waitress, Tammy, seated us a a window table overlooking the beautiful Vermont hillside. Birds chirped outside, starting the melody for a fine dining experience.
Since this was our second dinner review (see the first by Clicking Here) at the Deerhill, we knew we were in for a feast! After Tammy had taken our order, Linda stopped by our table to let us know that she had received a phone call from Eric at The Snow Goose Inn. He had ordered a bottle of wine for our dinner! We asked Linda to choose for us and she returned with a wonderful bottle of Chardonnay.
We started off with Crab & Lobster Stuffed Portobella Mushroom for Mike and an Apple, Cheddar & Carmelized Onion Tart for me. Next came the house salads with vegetable vinagrette made at the Inn and homemade white and wheat breads. Our entrees were Grilled NY Sirloin and Filet Mignon, accompanied by red potatoes, carrots, green beans and rice. As we were sure it would be, the meal was fabulous! Michael Anelli had worked his magic once again!
- a white chocolate shell with chocolate mousse and white chocolate sauce. My choice was the lemon mousse parfait. Both perfect endings!
We can heartily recommend the Deerhill Inn and Restaurant, so even if you aren't able to stay with Linda & Michael, don't forget to check out their Website, make dinner reservations and tell them Cruising America says "Hi!"
