Brewster's
Point Roberts, Washington

Kelly (our waitress) & Joan (owner of Brewsters)
There are pictures inside the restaurant that show the area 80 years ago. The area looks the same today. Mike said he had to hurry back to Maple Meadows for another Championship NBA game, but the surroundings, food and service were too good to hurry and I just smiled knowingly and nodded.
The folks here made us feel like we were the only ones in the building and yet the place was very busy. We talked with them about our travels and the plans we had for Alaska. The restaurant is surrounded by quaint shops. There were fresh flowers on every table, including the ones outside, on the front and back porches.

Located just a few blocks from the ocean, this restaurant has fine dining. There was a large fireplace in our dining room. The kitchen was to the rear of the building and you couldn't hear any clatter from it.
Mike had the Pan Fried Oysters - fresh oysters lightly breaded and sauteed in butter, served with tartar sauce. As soon as he took the first bite, all he said was "MMMMMM" and didn't talk again for several minutes (a minor miracle here, guys!). I had the Sirloin Steak - a center cut sirloin cook just right. Both entrees came with carrots, green beans, sweet cabbage and scalloped potatoes to die for! I did ask and Joan told me they use whipping cream in the potatoes! Excellent meal!

Brewsters doesn't currently have a website, but you can contact them at (360) 945-4545 or email them at brewsters@whidbey.net.... however you meet them, be sure to stop by and tell them that Cruising America made the recommendation!
