The weather was mild although a bit hazy over the island when we cast off for a tour around the bay down to the jetties.
The dolphins were out and playing around the boat as we slowly cruised along and our captain gave us a descriptive and historical view of the area. Unfortunately, I had taken my camera along instead of Mike's and it's just not fast enough to catch the dolphins as they broke the surface. I got a lot of pictures of the water when the dolphins WERE....until I clicked the camera! But, it was a great cruise.
After our trip to the jetties, the first mate dropped a shrimping net overboard to bring on board some of the sea life from the Gulf of Mexico.
When the catch was aboard, the crew described each of the creatures we had landed and even allowed the children on board to touch each one. The kids were having a great time! After each description, they would return the sea creatures to the water.
