The Bay Moon Bed & Breakfast
Lewes, Delaware

What wonderful feeling! You know how you feel when you've been out on the road for weeks and you arrive feeling safe, good and "at home"? Pamela took me in, made me relax and got me ready for the world again!

Pamela welcomed me at the front door. Before entering, I couldn't help but notice the nice front porch. I made a mental note to spend a little time here later and went inside the inn.

She took me on a tour and I had to stop taking pictures so we could continue. I would return later to finish the photos. Everywhere was something to hold your interest. There were many dried flower arrangements and the previous owner had added fake door entries that lead to nowhere. The doors were small. It was most unusual.

My room (#4) was small but cute. I had a full size bed, a captain's chair, 27-inch TV with remote and a 4-drawer dresser with mirrors. It also had 2 lamps and in the closet were extra blankets and robes. The bathroom was not en suite, but was just outside my door. The bath is shared, but the entire floor is rented to one group. So, only your guests or friends will also be using the bath. The tiled floor had a combination tub/shower, with a rug and wall heater. Pamela had added a nice touch with ice water and glasses waiting.

Pamela took off for her exercise classes and I headed to the ocean. I could smell it, but I needed to see it and take pictures. I walked along the beach for a while and turned back toward the car and saw the ferry coming into dock. I got some fabulous pictures.

I bought dinner, returned to the inn and walked around Lewes taking more photos. Near the inn is a museum. It had the most beautiful tulips around it. It seems the community has vegetable and flower gardens beside the museum.

I returned to the inn and ate some of the cookies Pamela had left for me. I met the other guests that were from New Jersey. They were delightful. Pamela returned and we talked about our travels, the B&B industry and had a good time. I headed upstairs to finish the pictures and watch some TV. What a day!

At breakfast, the couple from New Jersey kept us in stitches telling us stories about how they had met. The husband sounded like he had my "expertise" with tools, with his story about flooding his basement. We enjoyed breakfast on beautiful china, with crystal and candles. We started with oranges, green apples and honeydew melon. Pamela (from West Virginia) brought in pancakes with powdered sugar, link sausage, blueberry muffins with vanilla chips, croissants, fresh orange juice and Lipton tea. Like I said, "And got me ready for the world again!"

Pamela is a wonder. She is professional, yet entertaining and delightful. Make sure you tell her we said HI when you book your stay at this coastal inn.
