Arbutus House Bed & Breakfast
Vancouver, British Columbia

We arrived early and were guided to park the Eagle II behind the house for more seclusion. Lani took us on a tour of the home. And then we enjoyed lemonade and homemade cakes and goodies with her husband Gus joining us. Afterwards, I headed across the street to a park to take pictures of kids enjoying the sun and preparing (they go to school until July here) for summer.
 | Our room was called "The Magnolia". What a room! It had a queen bed, phone, desk, coffee pot with coffee and teas available. And Cindy's favorite, a private balcony with lawn chairs. We had a shared bath that boasted a huge soaking tub and shower. |
The grounds were spectacular and well manicured. The flowers were full because of all the recent rain, but this day it was gorgeous. The grass had been freshly cut and a little black squirrel chased a brown one around as we laughed.

I finished working on the design for a new guide (stopsalongtheway.com) we will be releashing soon and the peaceful setting made it so much easier. We went to the motorhome and Cindy made sandwiches for dinner while I explained the directory to her. Then we returned to our room for a great nights sleep.
 | At breakfast, served in the elegant dining room, we were joined by folks from San Francisco, Washington DC, Seattle/Vancouver and a writer from North Carolina and his wife. We all had a great breakfast and conversation. We started with coffee, tea, orange juice and pink grapefruit juice. There were fresh baked breads, muffins and coffee cake, along with a fruit dish of strawberries with whipped cream. The main course was a phylo wrapped salmon & egg delight! |
This was our final review in Vancouver and it's a shame to leave. This city and it's people really did the city proud. We could stay here! But it was time to head out, regroup for the road and onto Hope. Lani said that once we left Hope we would be beyond Hope. Cindy laughed and said,"He already is!"
Make sure if you're in the area to check out their Website and book your reservation. Make sure you tell them we sent you!
