Dan was preparing the inn for guests and Patti was getting a massage as I arrived. Dan is a licensed massage therapist and staying at this inn will get you a free massage....just ask Dan for details.

Dan showed me to my room, which was in a separate building that had become known as the Captain's Quarters. It was a gorgeous suite. It had a king size bed with night stands, a 25-inch TV/VCR, sofa, marble coffee table, and 3- and 5-drawer dressers. It also had a private bath, with a Jacuzzi tub/shower combination.

I put my stuff in the room and headed off for a short walk into the historical district. I went to museums and took photos, then to O'Kane's for dinner. I headed back to the Quarters. After downloading photos to my computer, I visited with Patti, Dan and their friend Garrett. They went to dinner and I headed off to watch 2 videos and fell asleep.

In the morning, after using the garden tub, I headed to the main house for breakfast. I enjoyed the common areas of the main house and watched Dan play the piano in front of a roaring fireplace. Dan asked me for a band to play music from, but he didn't know many ZZ Top songs! He started playing the piano at age three and is very talented.
Patti told us breakfast was served and after thanking her for allowing me to sleep in until 9:30, we joined her in the beautifully decorated dining area. Soft music played in the background while fresh flowers graced the table. We had tea, orange juice, pink grapefruit and orange wedges in vanilla syrup. Then she brought the signature Amelia House Pancakes with orange marmalade. It was garnished with an orange claw and bacon. There was also red raspberry jam. For dessert (!) I was offered cherry turnovers and peach dumplings and fresh peppermint leaves to freshen the breath afterward.
